Last week I received two phone calls, ostensibly from Cryto.com, that someone in Mumbai was trying to withdraw from my account. Crypto.com NEVER contacts by phone, so I was suspicious. I contacted C.com support via the in-app link and explained the situation, asked to close out the account as I rarely use it. I was asked to verify identity with face scan. Then do a 2FA, password, and email reset. OK, points for safety and security. Then I was told the matter had been escalated and someone would get back to me. Waited two days, no reply. Recontacted C.com support, asked for status update. Was told agent did not have access to previous conversation, please explain issue. I had to start at the beginning and go through the whole thing again. Identity verification via face recognition, again. 2FA and password reset, again. Escalation, again. No response, had to call them. Again. This has happened SIX times now and my account is still not deleted. I find it unbelievable that support does not have access to previous contacts. So now I have been re-identified, reset, and re-escalated for the sixth time, waiting for someone to contact me. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor, the 'support specialist' refused to provide the information, telling me that "...a manager would only tell me the same thing". Meanwhile, I have been locked out of my account so I have no idea of the status of my request, whether or not all my holdings have been transferred to Mumbai, or if/when someone is going to get back to me. I will never use or recommend Crypto.com again.
